Overview
Envato Elements solves a different problem than Canva. Canva is where you make the thing; Elements is where the raw material comes from. One subscription gives unlimited downloads across 29+ million assets — video templates for Premiere and After Effects, stock footage, photos, music tracks, sound effects, fonts, graphic templates and web themes. The licence matters more than the catalogue: each item you download is covered by a commercial licence tied to a specific project, and that licence stays valid after you cancel the subscription. Published pricing from elements.envato.com/pricing on 22 August 2026: Core from $16.50/mo, Plus from $39/mo (adds 200 monthly AI credits for image and video generation), Ultimate from $168/mo (500 to 2,000 AI credits and the full toolkit). The 'from' prices are the annual-billing rates; monthly billing costs more. For anyone producing video or social content at volume, one Elements subscription typically replaces several single-purpose stock accounts. For anyone making a handful of graphics a month, Canva's own library is enough and Elements is overkill.
✓ Pros
- Unlimited downloads across 29+ million assets on one flat fee
- Commercial licence per project stays valid after you cancel
- Replaces several separate stock photo, video, music and font subscriptions
- Strong catalogue of After Effects and Premiere templates, not just stills
- Core plan is cheap relative to per-asset stock pricing
✗ Cons
- Quality is uneven — the catalogue is large, the curation is not
- You must register each download against a project to keep the licence valid
- AI credits are gated behind the $39/mo Plus tier and above
- 'From' prices require annual billing; monthly costs noticeably more
- Not a design editor — you still need Canva, Figma or Adobe to assemble anything
